In a recent article entitled "Family: Healing Family Members When They Refuse Therapy" I discuss a case of being able to heal a wayward and reluctant ill member of a family of drug abuse by her mother at a distance.

In that article I mentioned the use of a new modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) and something I termed "loving energy intention".

Loving energy intention is basically a process that entails the following:

1. Holding an image of the family member in mind.

2. Directing a white beam of light from your heart and directed to the heart of the family member.

3. The white light represents your feelings of love and support for that other person's heart.

4. Envisioning the heart of the family member "lighting up", as it is bathed by your loving light beam, and expanding outwards its radiance to envelop the entire image of that person in your mind's eye.

5. Holding this image in mind as you feel the love you have for that person in your own heart.

There may be impediments to such a procedure if an individual has negative feelings towards that other person. Alternately many individuals have a difficult time even feeling love because they carry a great deal of emotional trauma inside that has caused their hearts to become shut down.

To facilitate the process outlined above I suggest that individuals work with me and the MRP modality to create the desired results.

The seemingly invincible Chelsea FC look set to record their second consecutive Premiership soccer title after a convincing 2-0 defeat of Liverpool FC.

Now 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, Chelsea barring catastrophe will be champions again. This is in no small way due to their enigmatic manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese master tactician has instilled a belief of invincibility in his team that is rarely seen.

Many fans of English football may point to the fact that Mourinho has spent vast amounts of his Chairman's money to attain this position, but that is not the reason for Chelsea's success. The credit must go to Mourinho, the man they call "The Special One". He continues to make the correct selections, and more importantly, his interventions from the sidelines are rarely innefective. He is the consummate professional.

Chelsea seem set to embark on a domination of the English game, and as long as Mourinho is in charge, they will continue to set the benchmark. Whether they can go on to dominate the European tournaments in the same way is a question soon to be answered, they certainly have the talent and the right man at the helm, but Europe is difficult to conquer.

The forthcoming Champions league games are awaited with baited breath...

With such a dizzying array of choices in area rugs, which will be best for you and your home?

Well, there are a few major factors to consider when selecting the area rug for any particular room and first and foremost should be the general theme of the room's decor. In other words, why would you put an oriental rug in a room that has southwestern furnishings? Even if the rug is a real beauty, it often can just simply look out of place and even detract from the appaearance of the room.

Of course, oriental and persian rugs are flexible and can be used successfully in many types of decor, but certain styles just clash and should not be attempted unless you really know what you are doing.

Contemporary rugs are a great choice with most modern room furnishings and they also come in a wide selection of patterns, colors and designs. You can find practically any color combination that you need in this one area rug category.

For western and southwestern decor, Navajo and southwestern style rugs are a great choice and usually enhance the overall theme of the room considerably.

Round and braided rugs are great selections for Early American themed rooms or rooms that are well-decorated with antiques evoking a feel for an older time. This design just fits in well and adds to the warm, comfortable atmosphere of it's surroundings.

Once the thme of the room is matched, make sure that the colors you choose will accent and not clash with the furnishings, the wall colors, wallpaper, and flooring. It's OK to use a splash of color to liven up the room, but be careful not to go overboard in this area as a little bright color goes a long way. And if the area rug will be placed in a high traffic setting, it may be beneficial to select a rug with darker shades anyway so it won't show dirt and wear as easily.

And, of course don't forget the cost. Handmade area rugs will most often cost quite a bit more than their machine made counterparts. Again, the decor of the room will often determine whether or not there is a need for such an expensive rug or not, but happily, many machine made rugs these days are not only very attractive in appearance but also wear well and hold up to years of use.

So then, taking a little time to determine your needs in advance can help you make a wise area rug selection.

Reading ended Preston North Ends 22-match unbeaten run at the Madjeski Stadium. Steve Sidwell opened the scoring for the 7/10 Royals after six minutes but Calum Davidson equalised almost immediately. Leory Lita netted the winning goal for Stev Coppells side on the stroke of half time.

Sheffield United lost ground on Reading after losing 3-2 at Brammall Lane to Queens Park Rangers. Watford edged closer to the second placed Blades with a late winner against Cardiff City. The 4/5 Hornets broke the deadlock after 69 minutes through Malky Mackay but Jeff Whitley levelled for the Bluebirds on 77. A Riccy Scimeca blunder allowed top goalscorer Marlon King to net the winner with two minutes left.

Gary Kelly became only the tenth player in Leeds history to make 500 appearances for the club as 8/11 United sunk Luton Town at Elland Road. Two goals in four second half minutes from Jonathon Douglas and Eddie Lewis put Leeds in the driving seat before Steve Howard pulled one back with seven minutes remaining.

Crystal Palace hammered Norwich City 4-1 as they maintained their fifth placed position. Andrew Johnson and Ben Watson gave the 5/6 Eagles a half time lead before Clinton Morrison and Fitz Hall piled more misery on Nigel Worthingtons side. A Darren Ward own goal two minutes from time was the only consolation for the Canaries.

In the battle at the bottom, rock-bottom Crewe Alexandra ended a 17-match winless run against second-from-bottom Brighton & Hove Albion. Colin Kazim-Richards gave the visitors the lead after 11 minutes but the Alex came back through Lee Bell and Stephen Foster to win at 13/10 odds.

Stoke City dealt a major blow to Millwalls survival hopes with a 2-1 win at the Britannia Stadium. Ben May gave the 3/1 Lions and unlikely lead after eight minutes but a Carl Hoefkens penalty seven minutes later restored parity. Paul Gallaghers goal after 57 minutes ensured a home win at odds of 9/10.

The summer is a perfect time to host a Luau. Regardless of your state of residence, you can have a Luau in your backyard. Hawaiian decorations will add to the ambience and make everyone think they are in a tropical place. A Luau is a perfect theme for a retirement, anniversary or birthday party because all ages enjoy them.

A Luau needs some palm trees. Inflatable trees or supplies to make some are found at any party supply store. They can be placed around the backyard or inside the house in strategic locations. If the party will head into the evening and night hours, hang strand of mini white lights. The twinkling lights provide enough light to see and appear as more stars in the sky.

Other decorations can include colorful flowers, streamers, balloons and pineapples. If you have a pool, place floating candles or live flowers inside to float. It provides a touch of elegance to the dcor. A party supply store will have all of the paper products needed to serve food.

Luaus are known for having great food. If cooking for a large group appears to be a daunting task, ask everyone to bring a dish to pass. Make sure they know the theme and see what they can create to contribute to it. Hire someone to professionally roast a pig and use that as your main course. Take a picture of the pig with an apple in its mouth to use in your scrapbook.

Games to play during a Luau include doing the limbo. The traditional game involves two people holding a pole while others dance under while the pole keeps getting closer to the ground. Other outdoor games can include horseshoes and volleyball. If you have an outgoing crowd, a hula contest may also be a fun idea.

High school is an experience that depends entirely on your place in the social realm of your class. For some, it is the best time of their life, and for others it is the worst. More often then not, what follows in college and in the real world is diametrically opposed to what happened in high school.

That is why after several years go by, there is some interest by all classmates to attend their high school reunion. The cool kids want to re-live their youth and visit the grounds where they felt on top of the world, and the nerds want to show everyone how far they have come.

There are other things that come into play as well. As time passes, classmates put on weight, and lose their hair. The real question is how much hair and how much weight. This is the number one thing that brings people together for class reunions - curiosity. Beyond that, there is the desire to rekindle the relationships that were so important in our teen years. We will never forget our high school friendships or the experiences that were critical in molding who we are today.

So, whether out of curiosity, to show off, or for re-establishing old ties, class reunions seem to be more popular than ever. The essence of quality marketing is the maximum possible communication your product's value to a potential customer. How to do that is the essence of this marketing book. What needs to be defined here is the difference between the two forms of approach. If you haven't seen the movie "Crazy People," starring Dudley Moore, rent it today. It is mandatory viewing for any business person. Aside from the comic relief value, what it has to offer is an interesting and informative view of direct marketing versus image marketing. Dudley falls from grace at an advertising agency and ends up in an asylum, There, he allows the locals to write promotions. The results are ads like, "If you wanna go to the bathroom, you gotta get (a laxative)." This ad causes a virtual (pardon the pun) run on the local pharmacies. Have you ever heard the statement, "If you want the truth, ask a kid or a drunk"? This is your basic "tell-it-like-it-is" or "cut-to-the-chase" type of benefit advertising.

A second ad (in the movie) said, "If you wanna get the girls, you gotta get a Porsche." It had results similar to the laxative ad. Get the point? These are ads based on real, expected (and experienced) results, not hyped up illusions and fantasies.

The opposite is exemplified in the pretzel ads that show Jason Alexander (George from the "Seinfeld" show) being picked out of a crowd, at random, to be an emergency hockey goalie. He makes superhuman saves, while eating pretzels, and ends up saving the game and then gets the prom queen. This is also reflected in the Christmas perfume ads that almost guarantee romance and fulfillment of your every desire if you buy a particular fragrance.

Are you looking for an illusion or a valid result from doing business with you? It's a choice, a matter of perspective, like lower prices or added value; it's a business decision. Illusion may result in an increase in business, however, both pricing and illusions are easy to top by the competition, and therefore represent risky business decisions. Those "crazy people" weren't so crazy!

In this second of a two part series we're going to discuss Japanese Buddhist funeral customs continuing with the wake.

The next part of the Buddhist service is the wake. The service is presided over by a Priest. The Priest arrives at the location of the wake and is given green tea. At this time he speaks with the family to go over any last minute details. During this time the guests arrive and take their seats on the floor if at the home or in chairs if at a funeral home.

After everyone has arrived, the Priest turns to the altar, bows, lights incense and begins to read a sutra. During this reading the Priest gives a signal to the family to rise and go to the incense urn. From there they bow, offer up some incense, bow again and then return to their seats. After the family members are finished doing this, the remainder of the guests repeat the ritual until everyone has done so. The Priest then finishes the sutra at which time everyone bows at the altar and the wake service ends. Depending on the Buddhist sect that the members belong to they may then chant a "mantra". This is done in unison.

Even after the wake service is over, guests will continue to arrive in order to pay their respects. It is customary and proper for all guests to either attend the wake service, the wake itself or the funeral, but not all three. The family then gives each guest a present to show them their gratitude for coming.

That night the family stays in the same room with the deceased. In some sects a person who is not a blood relative of the deceased, like a son in law, may be asked to stay with the deceased for the evening. In other sects each next of kin takes turns staying with the deceased.

After the wake, the night before, is the funeral service itself the next day. At that time the body is transported to the temple and placed in front of the altar. A wooden tablet with the deceased name is placed in front of the altar. The name is assigned and inscribed by the Priest. It should be noted that the name given by the Priest could be different from the name the person had in life.

When it comes time to perform the service the Priest reads the sutra and part way through gives a signal to offer up the incense. This part of the service is the same as at the wake service, with each person taking part. The Priest then finishes reading the sutra and the people bow as he leaves the room. A representative of the family thanks the guests for coming after the Priest leaves.

After the people leave the casket is sealed. From there the body is taken to the crematorium where the body is cremated in what some consider a rather gruesome service where the body is partially burned, then taken out so that chop sticks can be placed with the body before cremation continues. After which, the bones, ashes and what's left of the chop sticks are placed in an urn and given to the family.

Now that you have caught your dream fish, do you know how to clean?

Good job. You must be so proud of yourself. You have just landed the biggest fish of all. How do you clean it? You certainly don't want those ugly fish scales all over your wife's clean kitchen. Now what to do. What about cleaning the fish before you leave your fishing spot.

You will need a great knife to start with-a fish fillet knife. Spread out some old newspaper. Use a fish scaler or knife and work against the grain of the scale. Once all the scales are removed, you can toss the newspaper and rinse the fish.

Now it gets even messier. Do you know how to gut the fish? The less mess the better. Take your knife with the blade pointed toward the fish's head, poke the stomach and slit the fish moving the fillet knife towards the fish's head. Do not cut deep.

Secondly, take the fish fillet knife with the blade pointing toward the fish's tail and open the stomach. Remove all the fish guts.

Its that time of the year again. The 2005 National Football League season has come to an end with the Pittsburgh Steelers capturing the Super Bowl title, the Major League Baseball Spring Training season is just readying to begin, the National Basketball Association is in a holding pattern for most fans until its playoffs, the NASCAR season is just getting started with the Daytona 500 just raced and the National Hockey League is on hiatus due to the 2006 Winter Olympics. And with the NCAAs March Madness still weeks away, what is a sports fan to do?

We force ourselves to tune in to the NBC television broadcast network in order to try to catch some of the real competition on tap in the XX Olympic Winter Games. Sports fans are not averse to watching Winter Olympics coverage, but trying to figure out NBCs television schedule has become a sport of Olympic proportions unto itself.

The supposed television Winter Olympics schedule is available in local newspapers, in various sports magazines and all over the internet. But the schedule times are useless in pinpointing when any particular sport is broadcasted. And depending on what time zone one lives in, it is virtually impossible not to hear the results on television, radio, or view online prior to seeing the broadcast as NBC has its coverage tape delayed in five different U.S. time zones.

The excuse to not broadcast real time coverage during these Olympic Games is viable this year in that Italy is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Standard Time. But on weekends it is feasible for live coverage at least on the east coast. It is worth noting that almost 40 years ago, U.S. television viewers were able to enjoy primarily live coverage of the 1968 Winter Olympics from Grenoble, France and later with the 1972 Olympic Summer Games from Munich, Germany, via television satellite. But what was the excuse in not broadcasting the 1996 Summer Olympics live when they were in Atlanta, GA and then when the 2002 Winter Olympics were in Salt Lake City, UT? Both were instead tape delayed, again in five different time zones.

The reason for NBCs incoherent TV scheduling is because of its monopolized ability to edit and package the coverage any which way it wishes in order to appease sponsors while placing advertising spots wherever and whenever it chooses. Unfortunately, for the viewer, it denies the spontaneity of competition as well as deprives viewers from selectively choosing which sports they wish to watch.

NBC has bragged about providing 416 hours of broadcast coverage on NBC including its three cable television stations. But since these Winter Olympics first started airing its events on February 11, 2006 to date, viewers have been treated to little more than glorified highlights between 8:00 PM 11:30 PM in whichever time zone one happens to be. During that time period, bits and pieces of coverage from any one of 15 sport disciplines are shown, with scant coverage of any athletes other than American Olympians or only winners of an event should they not be American.

We lose the continuity of viewing any one event such as alpine skiing, speed skating, ski jumping, or even bobsledding for that matter. Essentially, races necessitate competitors being seen in sequence or at least the contenders, rather than a cut and paste version of them. And while figure skating viewing requires less of a need for the immediacy of viewing other competitors in the event, one would be hard pressed as to when to plan on tuning in. Although more time is devoted to the figure skating events than most others, its coverage is peppered with teasers and unexpected commercial breaks in the action, making it sometimes painful to get through, even for its avid fans.

Since television coverage of the Olympics is all about ratings, as is all television fare, NBC for years now has shot itself in the proverbial foot when whining that not enough of the American public is tuning in to Olympics coverage, no longer just applicable to the Winter Olympics, either. While the Summer Olympics attracts more viewers, its coverage too is close to beyond the pale.

What NBC has tried to do over the years is to please all demographics as well as its sponsors while losing sight of the intrinsic value of the actual event. But as viewership continues to erode for Olympics coverage, the NBC network is largely responsible. In its zeal to compel the American viewer to tune in, it has overproduced its coverage, thus turning off the very audience it is trying to attract and retain.

The Olympics tells its own story and most sports fans do not have the patience to sit through over three hours of teaser-filled coverage. Now we all know the reason it is done this way. The hope is that viewers will sit through enough coverage in order to be exposed to advertisers as well as to garner more consistent ratings. But in fact, NBC is accomplishing the opposite result, forcing many to either record the coverage and thus eliminate the ads, or tuning out completely.

So what you say? Who cares? Well, chances are if you are reading this, you are a sports fan. Although we all have our favorite sport, we crave watching competition, with few exceptions. For example, the idea of watching curling is comparable to watching paint dry and how it is considered an athletic event is beyond this writers comprehension.

But for now, we are stuck with what we have. When the numbers are crunched this time round for NBC, perhaps they will get the message that the sports fan drives the numbers and more and more of us are getting fed up. Maybe they need to go back to the drawing board and revisit the Jim McKay playbook on covering worldwide sporting events. It worked for ABC broadcasting way back when, when the athletes were the story, not the network; sadly a crucial element which NBC seems to have forgotten.
